Reigning Super Bowl MVP returns to face former team

Chiefs at Seahawks, Week 7:It’s not often a Super Bowl MVP leaves his team in free agency, but that’s exactly the scenario Kenneth Walker III finds himself in after signing with the Chiefs. Even more exciting, is the fact he gets to face his former club on the road in Seattle. Whether it was the decision to not re-sign him or the committee backfield the coaching staff kept deploying him in, there doesn’t seem to be any love lost between Walker and the Seahawks’ management. When asked about the matchup this season, Walker told Kay Adams on the Up & Adams Show “I would dap up all my teammates, but that’s about it”.

From a fantasy standpoint, it never hurts to have a little added motivation going into a game and I even factor that in slightly to my rankings and projections when a player encounters a team he used to be on. Walker is also coming off the hottest streak of his career, averaging 128.5 scrimmage yards per outing over his final six games (including the postseason). However, the Seahawks’ run defense will be up for the challenge. They allowed the third-fewest rushing yards and the second-fewest rushing touchdowns in 2025. Let’s hope Walker breaks a long run and gets to have a Marshawn Lynch-style celebration as he dives into the end zone.— Boone

No love lost between these two rivals on Sunday night

Cowboys at Giants, Week 1 (SNF opener):No better way to start than the beginning. We’ll all be heavily invested in the Cowboys offense from a fantasy standpoint, so it’s key to get an early look at that unit. We don’t have many questions about it but nevertheless, seeing how George Pickens is used in concert with a fully healthy CeeDee Lamb is a big variable as he proceeds to play on the franchise tag. The bigger questions are on the other side of the ball.

The Giants' offense is one I can’t quite wrap my mind around just yet. On one hand, there are several interesting young players who might be values in drafts, including Year 2 players in Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo. The entire unit is getting a facelift with a new coaching staff under John Harbaugh and looks poised to move toward more heavy and 12-personnel packages. At the same time, they might be playing the early season without orcertainly minus a fully healthy Malik Nabers. The star receiver is what can take this from a solid unit to a strong one. His status is one I’ll be closely monitoring all throughout the summer.— Harmon

High-scoring affair between two NFL powerhouses on tap

Bills at Rams, Week 5 (MNF):If this game doesn’t get your blood pumping, consult your doctor immediately. It’s a prime-time matchup between the last two MVP winners (Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford), and we’ve recently seen these teams have a pinball affair. The Bills and Rams met in Week 14 of 2024, withLos Angeles holding on for an exhilarating 44-42 victory. Josh Allen did his Superman thing for Buffalo that day (three touchdowns passing, three touchdowns rushing) while the Rams racked up 457 yards and five touchdowns of their own (the other TD scored on special teams). Puka Nacua put on a 12-162-1 clinic, Kyren Williams had 31 touches and scored twice, and Stafford threw for 320 yards and two scores, en route to a 132.6 rating. I don’t see how the teams are that much different now; little wonder there’s a 53.5 point total set for this Monday night showdown. Get your popcorn ready.— Pianowski

Jackson vs. Burrow matchup (health pending) in primetime

Ravens at Bengals, Week 17 (TNF): For years, the Lamar Jackson versus Joe Burrow prime-time games have fed families and fantasy football managers. Shootout after shootout has come with Ja’Marr Chase averaging 29.5 fantasy points over his last four with both QBs over 20 PPG. Prior to last season, Jackson was averaging 25.3 per game versus Cincinnati, one of the best marks by a player against a team in the NFL, but struggled mightily in the matchups last season, ultimately only throwing the ball 12 times in their Week 15 win. If both quarterbacks can stay healthy, I’d expect them to go back to their shootout ways and light up the scoreboard.

This time, the Bengals will finally host Baltimore in a primetime matchup, after the last four being played in Baltimore. A New Year’s Eve fantasy championship is what dreams are made of, as the two favorites in the division will square off to decide NFL playoff standings and fantasy championships.— Smyth

Charles Barkley speaks out about 'homophobic society' after Jason Collins' death

TheInside the NBAcrew took a good five minutes to talk about the deaths of Brandon Clarke and Jason Collins, which were both announced on Wednesday.

USA TODAY

Part of the focus was on Collins as a trailblazer, the NBA's first openly gay player. Charles Barkley spoke about how courageous he was at the time and how proud the Hall of Famer was to see how Collins handled himself.

When Kenny Smith spoke about the "big deal" it was to come out 13 years ago and it doesn't feel big now "because of people like him," Barkley had a lot to say in response.

"Kenny, in fairness now, if another guy did it, it would still be a big deal because we live in a homophobic society, and that's unfortunate," he said. "Anybody who think we ain't got a bunch of gay players in all sports, they're just stupid. There is such animosity toward the gay community, and that's what's really unfortunate."

A resident advisor who was a witness observed the two “pushing each other” and alleged to police that she saw Hutchins grab the woman by the neck, according to the outlet.

"He said she was cheating on him and he choked and yelled at her," the RA wrote in her witness statement, per the station. She also wrote that "the 'choke' was a firm grab to the neck not strangulation."

Hutchins told officers that he had an argument with the woman over food and that left, CBS Boston said, citing the police report. He later returned and found that the woman “threw his belongings in the hallway.”

Mark Consuelosis opening up about the loss of his father.

In an exclusive clip from the Tuesday, May 12 episode of iHeartRadio'sI've Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDariopodcast, theLive with Kelly and Markco-host became emotional while reflecting on the death of his father,Saul Consuelos, whodied in March 23 after a lengthy illness.

“You know, I lost my father five weeks ago,” Consuelos tells host Tommy DiDario, in a conversation taped on May 1. “And it was kind of a brutal five-month saga leading up to him passing. I knew it was happening. We all knew, this is going to happen.”

The actor, who is currently starring in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival ofFallen Angelson Broadway, says he prayed for “a merciful exit” for his father and was grateful that “it happened that way — very quickly and painlessly.”

Still, even though he tried to emotionally prepare himself for "the eventuality" of the loss ahead of time, when his father died, the reality hit hard.

“My father’s a mythical character to me,” Consuelos explains. “He’s, like, the best man I’ve ever met. Everything good that I’ve kind of globbed onto of how I carry myself comes from him.”

“I guess what I haven’t said is, I miss my dad,” he continues. “I’ve never said that. I’ve never said, ‘I miss my dad.’ Because he’s always been in my life. He’s always been available to me.”

The 55-year-old says he was in tech rehearsals forFallen Angelswhen his father died, forcing him to “compartmentalize” his grief while continuing to work on the production. “It was a welcomed distraction because I had to do this,” he says.

But when his family gathered for a memorial service, the loss became more real. “We just had a memorial for him this past Monday, where the family all got together,” he says. “And the reality of him being gone hit, of himactuallybeing gone.”

Though he says he still feels his father’s presence strongly, the actor became emotional while describing what he misses most.

“I am starting to…,” Consuelos says before taking a deep breath. “I’m going to miss just giving him a hug and holding his hand and just laughing with him. That’s something I’ve never said in my life. I’m going to miss my dad.”

DiDario went on to thank Consuelos for sharing the moment, pointing out how helpful his words would be to "anyone going through their grief right now.”

"He’s certainly proud of you," DiDario says. "Look at everything you’re doing. Broadway star!"

That inspired Consuelos to share how he honors his father before walking onstage each night. “I do look up in the house every now and again,” he says. “You can’t really see, because of the lights. And I kind of picture [him]. I think about him before I go on stage.”

Consuelos announced his father’s death on the April 22 episode ofLive with Kelly and Mark.“My father passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love,” he said at the time, adding that his father “lived a beautiful life.”

"He came here from Mexico in his early teens, he immigrated here from Mexico. He served his country for 30 years. Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the Navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his master's while I was a kid," he shared.

“He loved his country so much,” Consuelos added. “If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”

Donovan Mitchell's 39-point half lifts Cavs level with Pistons at 2-2

Donovan Mitchell scored an NBA-playoff-record-tying 39 points in the second half and finished with 43, powering the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 112-103 victory over the visiting Detroit Pistons in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday.

Field Level Media

The Cavaliers, who tied the best-of-seven series 2-2, put together a 24-0 run spanning halftime to stun the top-seeded Pistons. It was the most consecutive points in a playoff game in franchise history.

Mitchell matched the mark for points in a half by Eric "Sleepy" Floyd of the Golden State Warriors against the Los Angeles Lakers on May 10, 1987, in the West semifinals.

Mitchell had just four points at halftime due to 1-of-8 field-goal shooting. After the break, he made 12 of 18 field-goal attempts, 3 of 7 3-point tries and 12 of 13 free throws in 17 minutes.

"I apologized to the group (at halftime)," Mitchell said postgame on NBC. "... Trying to set the tone early in the offense, and I didn't do that in the first half. I came in and told my guys, 'It's on me,' But I tried to make a statement in the second half."

Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson added, "Incredible performance, really, by Donovan. A big-time second half for Don. When Donovan starts to get in the open court, that's when he's at his best."

The seven-time All-Star logged 21 points in the third quarter for the fourth-seeded Cavaliers. Game 5 of the series is Wednesday in Detroit.

The Pistons won the first two games at home, while Cleveland was a 116-109 victory on Saturday.

James Harden had 24 points and 11 assists while Evan Mobley added 17 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots for Cleveland, which is 6-0 at home this postseason.

Caris LeVert scored 24 points off the bench for Detroit, while Cade Cunningham had 19 points, six assists and five turnovers. Tobias Harris recorded 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists, and Paul Reed had 15 points.

"Donovan Mitchell was killing us, and that's pretty much it," Reed said. "It's about us figuring out what adjustments we need to make. Hopefully, we can come out and play with more urgency."

The Cavaliers held the Pistons scoreless for 6:34 after Harris made a hoop with 31.1 seconds left in the first half, turning a 56-50 deficit into a 74-56 lead. Mitchell scored the first eight points of the second half, putting his team ahead for good.

"Just not great execution, defensively or offensively," Harris said. "It was a really bad third quarter for us, which was a huge disappointment.

"We've just got to step up to the moment and understand it's the second round and display the urgency that needs to be played every game in the playoffs. Every game, it gets more and more aggressive."

Detroit completed a 23-5 run early in the second quarter, fueled by 10 points from LeVert to go up 28-21. There were nine lead changes and three ties in the first half, which ended with the Pistons leading 56-52 despite committing 10 turnovers.

It's quite typical for celebrities to adopt a stage name for their work in the entertainment world. While these names frequently derive from variations of their given names or middle names, others take a more imaginative route when selecting the name they wish to be recognized by. This practice is particularly common among singers, as their names become their trademark and persona, while simultaneously helping to maintain boundaries between their private lives and public image.

One prominent rapper and actor who opted for a stage name throughout his entertainment career is Snoop Dogg, whorecently acquired a soccer team in Wales.. And while he initially performed as 'Snoop Doggy Dogg', he eventually condensed it to 'Snoop Dogg', which remains how millions of supporters worldwide recognize him, even 35 years into his professional journey.

However, some admirers have been astonished to discover the rapper's actual name, as it took them nearly three decades to uncover. This was true for one individual, who posted toReddit's'Today I learned' community to reveal their discovery.

"TIL Snoop Dogg's real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. His "Snoop Dogg" nickname came from his mother who thought he looked like Snoopy from the Peanuts," the post's title stated, as they proceeded to reference the rapper's Wikipedia entry.

Snoop Dogg has openly shared how his mother inspired his iconic stage name. During an appearance on theKelly Clarksonshow, he explained the origins of his moniker.

"How did you end up going by Snoop?" Kelly asked the rapper, questioning whether the nickname initially began as 'Snoopy'.

"As a kid, I watched Charlie Brown, and I watched Snoopy so much, my mother was like 'you watch him so damn much, you're starting to look like him'," Snoopy revealed in the interview.

He continued: "And I swear to you, my whole life, I have had 50 years with my mother, and she never called me by my real name a day in her life. She called me Snoopy, Snoopy, Snoopy, that's it. That's all."

Snoop Dogg's mother, Beverly Tate, tragically passed away on October 24, 2021, aged 70, following a battle with an undisclosed illness. Snoop Dogg announced her death on social media, calling her an "angel" and subsequently honoring her memory during his shows.

Viewers quickly flooded the comments section with reactions, with many applauding his mother for the distinctive nickname.

"Even though this is the first time I'm hearing, about how Snoop Dogg got his stage name, and listening to his story I had a feeling that's how he'd gotten the name, because it makes sense," one viewer wrote.

Another commented: "So cute he went with his mom's given nickname.

"I had NO IDEA that WHERE SNOOP DOG CAME FROM!!!!" another revealed, while a fourth person commented: "Awe love this. Momma snoop must be the cutest. super vibe Momma Snoop."
